JR Snider is seeking a reliable Septic Inspector/Technician to perform thorough inspections, routine maintenance, and basic repairs for residential septic systems. What You’ll Do — Deliver Safe, Accurate Septic Services
As a Septic Inspector/Technician, you will:
Inspect septic tanks, drainfields, and associated components for proper operation and code compliance
Perform routine pumping oversight, effluent filter cleaning, and minor mechanical repairs
Collect samples and document system conditions, water levels, odors, and visible defects
Identify signs of system failure, root intrusion, soil issues, or improper usage
Provide homeowners clear, professional explanations of findings and recommended next steps
Complete accurate inspection reports and service records using tablets and digital tools
Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all health and safety protocols for wastewater handling
Coordinate with licensed contractors or senior technicians for required repairs or replacements
Participate in ongoing training to stay current with local codes, inspection standards, and best practices
Who We’re Looking For — A Thorough, Responsible Technician
This role is ideal for technicians who are detail-oriented, customer-focused, and committed to safe practices.
You should bring:
1–5 years of experience in septic, wastewater, or related field service work (inspections, maintenance, or pumping oversight)
Familiarity with septic system components, drainfields, tanks, and common failure modes
Comfort working outdoors in variable conditions and lifting moderate loads
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor repairs and component replacements
Strong observational and documentation skills
Professional communication skills with customers and team members
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Willingness to obtain any required state certifications or licenses for septic inspection/operation
